The construction group includes a hydrodynamic retarder (10) with rotor (11) and stator (12), and a rotary pump (20). The pump medium of the rotary pump also serves as the working medium of the retarder. The rotary pump has an inlet channel (22) to take the pump medium at pump input pressure, and an outlet channel (23) for output of the pump medium at pump output pressure.
