PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pressure-sensitive adhesive for an optical film, which is capable of suppressing warpage and light leakage caused by stress accompanying a dimensional change of a member such as the optical film and of yielding a high-quality pressure-sensitive adhesive optical film which shows high durability and is excellent in handleability in its manufacturing step, to provide a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer for an optical film obtained by using the pressure-sensitive adhesive for the optical film and its manufacturing method, to provide the pressure-sensitive adhesive optical film wherein the pressure-sensitive adhesive layers for the optical film are stacked on at least one side of the optical film, and to provide an image display device obtained by using the pressure-sensitive adhesive optical film.

SOLUTION: The pressure-sensitive adhesive for the optical film comprises 100 pts.wt. (meth) acrylic polymer (A), 0.02-2 pts.wt. peroxide (B) and 0.01-5 pts.wt. isocyanate compound (C), wherein the (meth)acrylic polymer (A) essentially comprises an alkyl (meth)acrylate and has no functional group reactive with an isocyanate group.
