NON-AQUEOUS ELECTROLYTE SECONDARY BATTERY, AND ITS CHARGING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery having a high potential and superior in cycle life characteristics.

SOLUTION: The non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprises a positive electrode having a positive electrode active material, a negative electrode having a negative electrode active material, and a non-aqueous electrolyte having a non-aqueous solvent and an electrolyte salt. The positive electrode active material contains lithium cobalt compound oxide added with at least zirconium and magnesium and a lithium nickel manganese compound oxide having a layered structure, and the potential of the positive electrode active material is 4.4-4.6 V at lithium reference, and the negative electrode active material contains an artificial graphite having total pore volume of the pores in the range of 102-106Å of 0.4-2.0 ml/g per weight and a specific surface area of 8 m2/g or less, 60 wt% or more against the total weight of the negative electrode active material.
