PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shininess removing composition capable of simply removing the shininess occurring on a surface of a fiber product which is formed out of an animal hair fiber, including wool, or the like. SOLUTION: This shininess removing composition contains one or more kinds of compounds selected from a group consisting of a compound expressed by general formula (I) (R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>are each independently H or methyl) and a compound expressed by general formula (II) (R<SP>3</SP>, R<SP>4</SP>and R<SP>5</SP>are each independently H or glucoside, provided that R<SP>3</SP>, R<SP>4</SP>and R<SP>5</SP>are not allowed to be H at the same time; and R<SP>6</SP>is H or a 1-4C alkyl).
