PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester film having a thickness of≥50μm, suitable as a part of devices such as LCD, PDP, organic EL and projection display, free from optical defect and polarization unevenness and having good optical properties. SOLUTION: The biaxially drawn polyester film having a thickness of≥50μm and containing ethylene terephthalate as a main constituent satisfies the following formula: 15≤Tc2-Tc1≤35 wherein Tc1 and Tc2 are the heating crystallization peak temperature (°C) and the cooling crystallization peak temperature (°C) determined by a differential scanning calorimeter, respectively.
