PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator having a retractable door and a container configuration excellent in storability. SOLUTION: A container that is pulled out together with the retractable door comprises two upper and lower containers. The upper container 5 that covers a portion of an opening in the lower container is longitudinally slidable 10 over the lower container. The bottom face of the upper container 5 is provided with a plurality of steps to provide the refrigerator with a plurality of compartments 7, 8 of different depths.
