PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-strength titanium alloy having excellent cold workability after solution treatment, and having a tensile strength of≥1,500 MPa by aging treatment, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: The high-strength titanium alloy having excellent cold workability has a composition comprising one or two selected from, by mass,≤25% Nb and≤15% V (wherein, Nb+V≥3.0%, and the content of V is <10% at the composite addition of Nb and V), 3 to 17% Mo, 7.1 to 30% Zr, 0.5 to 5% Sn and≤0.30% O, Moeq shown by the following formula in an amount of 2 to 8%, and the balance Ti with inevitable impurity elements, and the high-strength titanium alloy is characterized in that the tensile strength is controlled to≥1,500 MPa by aging treatment: Moeq (mass%)=(Mo+V/1.5+Nb/3.5+Ta/5+1.25×Cr+1.25×Ni+1.7×Mn+1.7×Co+2.5×Fe+W/2.5)-(Al+Sn/3+Zr/6+10×O).
