PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator device arranging two upper and lower elevator cars or three elevator cars vertically in one shaft to provide them with an exclusive hoisting machine, respectively, in order to allow independent operation and capable of solving problems wherein respective control cables swing, interfere with the other elevator, and are caught in a shaft equipment, thereby causing failure, because area of the shaft is only for substantially one elevator car and reducing an installation space. SOLUTION: Concerning with the arrangement of balance weights and shaft equipment of respective elevator cars 8, 9, control cable hangers 22, 23 on a car side of respective control cables 20, 21 are inserted into control cable ducts 18, 19 piled up in the shaft and having a cut-out part and are suspended, and their end parts are linked to a control panel through control cable hangers 20a, 21a on a shaft side provided inside the control cable duct to realize the optimum arrangement by taking the arrangement of balance weights and the shaft equipment into account in a total manner.
