PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet conveyance device capable of reducing electric power consumption even during sheet conveyance operation and to provide an image forming device provided with it and an image reading device. SOLUTION: A condition of sheet detection means S5, S6, S7 for detecting a sheet is switched into a condition in which sheet detection is possible and a condition in which sheet detection is impossible by a switching means. A control means controls switching operation of the switching means to put a condition of sheet detection means S5, S6, S7 into a sheet detection possible condition before a sheet reaches a position where detection by the sheet detection means S5, S6, S7 is possible. After sheet detection by the sheet detection means S5, S6, S7 ends, a condition of sheet detection means S5, S6, S7 is put in a sheet detection impossible condition. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
