METHOD OF SECURING A COMMUNICATION BETWEEN A SIM CARD AND A MOBILE TERMINAL

The invention relates to a method of generating and distributing a secret to be shared by a SIM card and a terminal which are connected to one another by means of a physical interface, whereby the terminal is connected to a network. The inventive method is characterised in that it comprises the following steps consisting in: generating n-tuples in the network; sending at least two random values extracted from at least two n-tuples to the SIM card; calculating the secret in the network from at least two extracted encryption keys from at least two n-tuples; calculating the secret in the SIM card from the random values and from a pre-existing authentication key that is common to both the network and the SIM card; and sending the calculated key over the network to the terminal. The invention also relates to a system for generating and distributing a secret to a SIM card and a terminal.
