EXHAUST GAS TREATMENT APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas treatment apparatus capable of quickly and highly efficiently decomposing and removing a volatile organic compound contained in an exhaust gas.

SOLUTION: The exhaust gas treatment apparatus has an irradiation treatment chamber 3 having a gas inlet and a gas outlet and a means for casting an electron beam to a treatment object gas introduced from the gas inlet into inside, and a contact treatment chamber 5 connected with the gas outlet of the irradiation treatment chamber and packed with a catalyst. Zeolite, granular activated carbon, an activated-carbon fiber and the like can be used as the catalyst. The electron beam is preferably cast from the vertical direction against the moving direction of the object gas.
