<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide metal fittings for repairing an OPGW (optic ground wire) that can recover the rigidity of the OPGW without replacing it with a new one, when damage that does not allow an aluminum-coated steel wire to keep ground wire rigidity is caused to the steel wire but no damage is caused to an optical fiber, and can reduce a construction cost of repair work and shorten a construction period, and so on; and to provide a method for repairing the OPGW. <P>SOLUTION: The metal fittings are provided with a pair of holding metal fittings 16 for holding the OPGWs that are arranged in front and rear of the damaged point 14 of the OPGW 12, and adjustment metal fittings 18 that connect the pair of holding metal fittings in a state of holding the OPGW and can adjust a distance between the pair of holding metal fittings. By attaching the holding metal fittings to the OPGW by connecting the holding metal fittings by the adjustment metal fittings, and by drawing the pair of holding metal fittings near to each other by the adjustment metal fittings, the OPGW is repaired in a state that all or part of stress that has acted on the damaged point of the OPGW is shifted to the adjustment metal fittings. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
