PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately discriminate and extract a pedestrian and an artificial structure on an infrared image.
SOLUTION: In a region above an upper end of a binarized object OB, a plurality of search regions are set, each region being adjacent mutually along a longitudinal direction (y direction) and a lateral direction (x direction) and having a predetermined longitudinal width (height width) and a lateral width. Regarding respective search regions continuously disposed in the binarized object OB, by correlation computation for a right image and a left image, parallax for each search region is computed. If the absolute value of a difference is smaller than a predetermined threshold, with respect to the parallax for the binarized object OB, the search region is determined as a region having parallax nearly equal as the binarized object OB. The position of a search region at the uppermost end position having parallax nearly equal as the binarized object OB is set as an upper end position of a gray scale region.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
