PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized crystal oscillator which is made low in height and excellent in productivity. SOLUTION: The crystal oscillator includes: a first space part 15 of a recessed shape on a front principal side of an insulating substrate 6 wherein an integrated circuit element 7 assembled with an oscillation circuit and electronic components are mounted on the font principal side of the insulation substrate 6; and a second space part 16 of a recessed shape located on the upper face of the first space part 15 of the insulating substrate 6 and containing a crystal vibration element 5 electrically connected to the integrated circuit element and the electronic components, and air-tightly sealed by placing a lid 4 on opening upper edges of the second space part 16, wherein the melting point of a first joining member used for fitting the tallest component among the integrated circuit element and the electronic components is made different from the melting point of a second joining member used for fitting the second space part 16.
