PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve user convenience and operability by executing automatic dubbing in a large-capacity second recording medium. SOLUTION: This device executes recording by including a reproducing means for reproducing data from a first recording medium recording a plurality of data, a recording means for recording data recorded in the first recording medium in a second recording medium, a database generation means for generating a database from a database file having identification information indicating the recording of each of the plurality of data in the second recording medium, and a recording control means for retrieving the identification information of the data base file for specific data to record the specific data of the first recording medium in the second recording medium according to the inspection result of the database file when the specific data are recorded from the first recording medium.
