PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring instrument for surely detecting the anomaly occurred by self-diagnosis. SOLUTION: This measuring instrument is equipped with a signal generation part 21 for generating a signal S1 for measurement having a prescribed signal waveform, an A/D conversion part 23 (voltage waveform data generation part) for generating waveform data on the inputted signal S1 as voltage waveform data Dv, and a control part for executing self-diagnosis processing as to the prescribed signal waveform of the normal signal S1 for measurement based on previously regulated allowance data for voltage waveforms and on the waveform data Dv generated by the conversion part 23.
