PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new ultraviolet-absorbing group-bearing organic silicon compound containing an alkoxysilyl group and exhibiting an excellent ultraviolet-absorbing property and its manufacturing method, and to provide a coating composition excellent in heat resistance and water resistance and capable of stably maintaining the compound in a coating film, and a coated article coated with a cured film of the composition. SOLUTION: The ultraviolet-absorbing group-bearing organic silicon compound is represented by formula (1) or (2). In formulae (1) and (2), R<SP>1</SP>is an alkyl group or an aryl group; R<SP>2</SP>is an alkyl group; R<SP>31</SP>is a hydrogen atom, halogen atom, hydroxy group, alkyl group, aryl group or acyloxy group; R<SP>32</SP>-R<SP>34</SP>are each a hydrogen atom, halogen atom, alkyl group, aryl group or alkoxy group; R<SP>35</SP>is an ester bond-containing bivalent organic group; R<SP>36</SP>is a bivalent hydrocarbon group; a is 0-2; Z is a group represented by formula (3); R is a hydrogen atom or a monovalent hydrocarbon group; R<SP>2</SP>is an alkyl group; 0<m≤1; 0≤n≤2; 0≤p<3; 0≤q≤3; and 0<m+n+p+q<4.
