PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid a trouble in well forming an image due to the occurrence of slip between a feed roller and paper. SOLUTION: An ideal time A is subtracted from a time from starting the rotation of the feed roller (TA1, TA4) to passing the front end of the paper through a feed switch (TA2, TA6), to calculate a slip time (C1, C2). Then, at feeding the paper, the rotation of the feed roller is started the calculated slip time faster than a timing (TA5, TA9) when the feed switch is predicted to be in an off-state, to start the feed of the next paper (TA4, TA8). Thus, there is no difference between the time from starting the rotation of the feed roller to passing the front end of the paper through the feed switch and the ideal time A to passing the front end of the paper through the feed switch when no sip occurs between the feed roller and the paper.
