PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vertical base-isolating unit capable of being miniaturized. SOLUTION: This vertical base-isolating unit 11 comprising a lower plate 21, an upper plate 23 mounted spaced apart at an upper portion of the lower plate 21, a coil spring 25 mounted between the lower plate 21 and the upper plate 23 and exercising elastic restoring force in the vertical direction, and a horizontal link mechanism 27 connecting the lower plate 21 and the upper plate 23 in a state of being positioned approximately in parallel with each other and capable of being close to and separated from each other, further comprises a disc 29 mounted between the lower plate 21 and the upper plate 23 in such a state that its axis is along the horizontal direction, and having a prescribed mass, and a motion converting mechanism 31 supported by the horizontal link mechanism 27, and rotating the disc 29 by the horizontal movement of the horizontal link mechanism 27.
