PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vane pump capable of suppressing deformation of side plate due to internal pressure of a pump. SOLUTION: This vane pump is provided with a cam ring 6, a rotatable rotor 11 arranged in the cam ring 6, a plurality of vanes 12 stored in a plurality of the vane grooves radially formed on the rotor 11 and sliding along a cam surface of the cam ring 6 with accompanying rotation of the rotor 11, a front side plate 1 and a rear side plate 2 arranged on both sides of the cam ring 6, the rotor 11 and the vane 12 in a casing. The front side plate 1 is divided into an inner first front plate 1a and an outer second front plate 1b in a direction in parallel with an axial direction of a drive shaft 13 of the rotor 11, and a front back pressure chamber 17 making compressed fluid flow into a gap between a first front plate 1a and a second front plate 1b is formed.
