SIMPLIFIED ASSAY METHOD FOR DETECTING MULTIPLE SUBJECTS

It is intended to provide an easy-to-use and highly reliable assay method in examining subjects with the use of the flow through type membrane enzyme immunoassay method, whereby multiple subject species to be detected can be simultaneously tested in a single assay device and subjects showing a positive reaction can be conveniently and quickly specified. A method of detecting multiple subjects in a single assay procedure by using a flow through type membrane enzyme immunoassay device having a membrane, to which multiple capturing reagents capable of respectively binding to different subjects are bonded apart from each other, a filter located in the upstream of the membrane and an enzyme-labeling reagent part which comprises multiple enzyme-labeling reagents capable of binding to the different subjects as described above and is located in the upstream of the filter; involving the following steps: (i) adding test specimens to the enzyme-labeling reagent part, thus forming a mixture of the test specimens with the enzyme-labeling reagents, filtering the mixture so as to add it on the membrane, and then allowing the capturing reagents to capture the subjects to be detected to thereby form immnocomplexes each being composed of a capturing reagent-a subject to be detected-an enzyme-labeling reagent; and (ii) dropping substrate solutions for the enzymes onto the membrane.
