The free stroke of at least one of the pins (2) in the core bore (or alternatively in the casing bore), is limited. A stop pin (3) in the core, projects into the core pin bore, to arrest the core pin, hence limiting its travel. The stop pin is directed at right angles to the bore. Core pin(s) and their associated bores have a cross-sectional shape other than circular. Pin(s) may include studs at right angles to their length. Core or casing pin(s) may have a threaded- or screw-like outer contour, with a complementary contour in the cylinder or core casing. The threaded or screw-like outer contour engages a contact pin in the cylinder casing.
