The hinge is formed by an expanding ring (1) of rubber or similar set between two metal discs (4,5) and resting at the top on the hinge bolt. The upper disc (4) has a tensile bolt (2) set in an oblong bore running through the lower part of the hinge. On actuating an eccentric tilt lever (3) or similar the ring is expanded and presses against the inside wall of the upper part (8) of the hinge. One or more notches are provided in the hinge bolt into which the pressure pin of a thumb wheel can be inserted to completely block the mobility of the hinge parts.
