METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MICROPLASMA SPRAY COATING A PORTION OF TURBINE VANE IN GAS TURBINE ENGINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for microplasma spray coating capable of manually spraying without masking.

SOLUTION: This device comprises an anode 16, a cathode 18, and an arc generator for generating electric arc across the anode 18 and the cathode 16. An arc gas emitter 14 jets a gas through an electric arc. The electric arc can be operated to ionize the gas so as to produce a plasma gas stream. A powder injector 22 injects a powdered material into the plasma stream. A localized area of the turbine vane is coated with the powdered material without having to mask the turbine vane.
