<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an actuator capable of indexing a movable body with reliability through simple circuit structure, by making the physical properties of a first driver and those of a second driver different from each other, especially, so that the drivers are different from each other in displacement time. <P>SOLUTION: A second piezoelectric element 4 is displaced in the direction of movement of a movable body 5 and supplies driving force to the movable body 5. The capacitance of the second piezoelectric element 4 is made larger than the capacitance of a first piezoelectric element 3 that is displaced in the direction perpendicular to the direction of movement of the movable body 5. The time it takes for the second piezoelectric element 4 to be displaced is thereby made longer than the time it takes for the first piezoelectric element 3 to be displaced. Thus, the movable body 5 can be indexed with reliability through simple structure without specially improving the circuitry. This is achieved by connecting a common power supply 20 to the first piezoelectric element 3 and the second piezoelectric element 4, and simultaneously applying rectangular wave voltage from the common power supply 20 to the first piezoelectric element 3 and the second piezoelectric element 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
