摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of operating a solid oxide fuel cell suitably, in particular, an operating method of enabling smooth start up, and the solid oxide fuel cell superior in operating efficiency and durability. <P>SOLUTION: In this operating method of the solid oxide fuel cell having a unit cell, a solid electrolyte is clipped by a fuel electrode and an air electrode. Supplementary air is supplied intermittently to a fuel gas in the vicinity of the fuel electrode and the temperature and/or atmosphere of the fuel electrode or the surrounding of the fuel electrode are controlled, and a supplementary fuel gas is intermittently supplied to the air in the vicinity of the air electrode and the temperature and/or atmosphere of the air electrode or the surrounding are controlled. The solid oxide fuel cell has a unit cell in which the solid electrolyte is clipped by the fuel electrode and air electrode and has a fuel electrode side mixture zone of the fuel gas and supplementary air in the vicinity of the fuel electrode, and an air electrode side mixture zone of the air and the supplementary fuel gas in the vicinity of the air electrode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
