A die liner assembly for an extrusion press (not shown) comprises at least three longitudinal sections retained in the required nozzle form by a restraint applied at or near the die end of the assembly. The assembly is for use in a press for manufacturing briquettes from coal char and is composed of six identical elongated sections (2) having hard faced surfaces 3. At the end 7 near the press a shallow double step 4 is provided in which a ring element 6 may be shrunk on to maintain the cylindrical form of the nozzle. Alternatively the assembly is made up of three, four, or eight sections.
