PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sensor diagnostic method and a sensor diagnostic apparatus, capable of steadily and easily diagnosing sensors which output detection signals of which the amplitude time-serially changes in a normal state and surely detecting, even temporary anomalies. SOLUTION: The sensor diagnostic method and the sensor diagnostic apparatus have arithmetic processes (S1-S3) for sequentially sampling detection signals from an oscillation sensor 2 at prescribed timing and computing each amount of change, in amplitude values at sequential sampling points within a prescribed period and determination processes (S4-S8) for determining whether the oscillation sensor 2 is normal or anomalous, on the basis of the amount of change computed in the arithmetic processes. Since it is determined whether the oscillation sensor 2 is normal or anomalous, on the basis of the amount of change in amplitude values at the sequential sampling points within the prescribed period, it is possible to surely detect anomalies, even in the case that the oscillation sensor is temporarily anomalous.
