PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inhibit water from penetrating into an internal space wherein a rotating member is arranged. SOLUTION: A crank angle detecting device 10 is provided, which comprises a casing 16 having the internal space 14 that is opened to the atmosphere via a pressure buffering hole 12; the rotating member (not shown) arranged in the internal space 14 and integrally rotating with a rotating crankshaft; a sensor (not shown) for detecting the rotational state of the rotating member; and a drive shaft 18 coupled to the crankshaft or a rotation shaft rotating, in synchronization with the crankshaft and transmitting its rotational drive force to the rotating member, and which detects the crank angle from the rotation state of the rotating member detected by the sensor. The pressure buffering hole 12 is connected to a ventilation tube 22, having a portion extending downward in the vertical direction. Air, existing inside the ventilation tube 22, is used to obtain an air quantity for inhibiting the pressure of the internal space 14 from lowering. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
