<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To start an engine with using a portable key. <P>SOLUTION: An engine start device 101 performs wireless communication via the portable key 102 and a wireless communication part 202, and detects a insertion condition of the portable key 102 into a remote control slot 300 and perform wired communication via the portable key 102 and a priority communication part 203.
