PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader by which a quality of an output image is changed simply without carrying out high level adjusting work which requires specialty such as position adjustment of a condenser lens. SOLUTION: The image reader condenses beams from a light source 13 with a condenser means 23 to irradiate an object F of picture reading, guides obtained image light to an image means and makes image information of the object F into a digital signal to take in. Regarding the condenser means 23, two or more kinds of condenser means having different condensing property can be selected and can be mounted to an image reader main body 2 detachably.
