PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the adjustment of convergence by reducing differences in correction sensitivity of convergence caused by the positional relation between a screen and a projection tube. SOLUTION: Point data, representing the convergence correction quantities of respective colors R, G, and B as to a plurality of adjustment points virtually arrayed as representative points on the screen 19, in advance, are stored to a memory 31, convergence correction data on pixels existing between adjustment points are calculated by an interpolative arithmetic section 35, based on the point data corresponding to the adjustment points to generate auxiliary deflection signals of R, G, and B based upon the respective convergence correction data, and the signals are sent to projection tubes 181, 182, and 183 of the corresponding colors to correct convergence on the screen 19. When adjustment mode of convergence is selected, a color and an adjustment point are designated, and a correction value that the point data indicate has increased or decreased, in adjustment steps predetermined corresponding to the position of the adjustment point to adjust a correction quantity for the convergence is adjusted.
