PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information retrieval device capable of reducing skill and labor necessary to a retrieval and improving the efficiency of a retrieval work, thereby imparting a comfortable operability to an operator. SOLUTION: The information retrieval device performs retrieval processing (primary) on the basis of a retrieval condition set by the operator and displays its retrieval result. When the operator is not satisfied with the retrieval result, the information retrieval device makes the operator designate a retrieval target, presents a retrieving method for attaining the retrieval target, makes the operator designate the presented retrieving method and set a retrieval condition and executes retrieval processing (secondary).
