PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To support design processing by partially automating selection work of members required to be uniform in accordance with a certain standard when constructing a building. SOLUTION: Basic data 32 representing a floor plan of the building and member data groups including appearance photographs and descriptions of interior and exterior members are classified into categories in accordance with a certain uniformity standard and are stores in separate data file folders respectively in a storage means 30. A design support system includes; a means 21 for accepting an input of position information 35 for designating a place where an interior/exterior member should be arranged in the floor plan of the building; means 22 and 23 for acquiring a classification of the interior/exterior member to be arranged in the place designated by position information and a classification of the place where the interior/exterior member should be arranged; a means 24 for automatically selecting member data 34 of the highest priority, which is specified by a category, the classification of the interior/exterior member, and the classification of the place; and a display control means 25 for displaying a plan board screen, the floor plan, a member image of the interior/exterior member, and a leader line on a display device.
