PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a caulking apparatus for an optical fiber cable plug with which setting of a caulking ring or the like is facilitated and safety of a caulking operation is secured, and variance in a tensile strength of an optical fiber attributable to products is prevented from occurring. SOLUTION: The caulking apparatus for an optical fiber cable plug comprises: a receiving part 11 composed of a caulking die 12 for receiving a caulking ring and of a cable inserting part 14 for inserting an optical fiber cable; and a caulking operation part 21 for caulking the caulking ring by movably pressing down to the receiving part 11, wherein a slider mechanism 31 is provided for the receiving part 11 so that the receiving part 11 is slidingly moved to the caulking operation part 21 and oppositely arranged at a position making meshing with a blade part 22 possible. In addition, there are also provided a die elevating/lowering mechanism 41 which enables the caulking die 12 to be moved vertically in accordance with the sliding movement of the receiving part 11 back and forth; a cable clamping mechanism 51 which can advance or retreat relative to the cable inserting part 14; and a mechanism 71 for preventing idle operation of the blade part by preventing the caulking operation part 21 from operating downward before reaching its position.
