PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) having low concentration of≤2C component and high propane and/or butane concentration from a carbon-containing raw material such as natural gas or a synthetic gas. SOLUTION: The method for producing the LPG comprises a lower paraffin-producing step for producing a lower paraffin-containing gas which is a mixed gas containing a low boiling-point component which is a substance having a boiling point lower than that of propane and containing propane or butane as a main component in the presence of a catalyst from the synthetic gas and a separation step for separating the low boiling-point component from the lower paraffin-containing gas to obtain the LPG mainly containing propane or butane. The method for producing the LPG comprises, further, a synthetic gas-producing step for producing the synthetic gas from the carbon-containing raw material and a recycling step for recycling the separated low boiling-point component as a raw material for the synthetic gas-producing step.
