PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the weight of a fishing reel and obtain a fishing reel having excellent fanciness and light-weight structure. SOLUTION: The fishing reel 10 is provided with cover members 54, 56 attached to a reel body 12 holding a driving device in the body in a manner to place the cover members facing to the opening part 13 of the reel body. Through-holes 68, 80 are opened on the cover members 54, 56, covering parts 58, 60 are placed between the reel body 12 and the cover members 54, 56 and the through-holes 68, 80 of the cover members are closed with the covering parts 58, 60.
