<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent image quality from being deteriorated when an image is formed with high definition. <P>SOLUTION: An image is formed by arranging a plurality of rod lenses so that their optical axes are mutually parallel with each other. The rod lenses have specified distribution of refractive index formed in a radial direction. Furthermore, the vicinity of the outer peripheral edge of the rod lenses, after the specified distribution of refractive index is formed, is removed. The light transmission from a light source is restricted in the vicinity of the outer peripheral edge of the rod lenses, no granularity nor bleeding of a narrow line is generated in a halftone image even when the definition is enhanced, moreover gradation characteristic can be prevented from being non-linearized to eliminate the deterioration in the image quality. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
