PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic ice maker using an inexpensive configuration to easily remove ice produced, without using a heater or twisting an ice tray. SOLUTION: For water that fills each ice room on the ice tray, a means is provided for creating a temperature distribution such that the water starts to freeze from the open side of each ice room and completes freezing near the bottom of each ice room. In this way, the ice about to be completely frozen is allowed to break air bubbles remaining near the bottom of each ice room and to separate itself from the ice tray.
