PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the transporting efficiency when a semi-trailer is separated. SOLUTION: The semi-tractor 10 has a pedestal 11 fitted with a coupler, and in front of the coupler 12 a locking means 30 able to restrain removably the front part of a freight container 20 is installed. In case an engaging member is installed at the bottom surface of the freight container, a stable engagement of the freight container can be established using the coupler. Even in case no coupler is used, safety in running on a public road can be ensured by restraining the freight container at least at two points. A towing vehicle (semi-tractor) of a trailer has been able to carry only large-sized freight, but this offers transportability even for smaller objects which allows establishing a higher transporting efficiency, safety on a public road, and a low risk of pollution.
