PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image printing method capable of suppressing sticking of a sheet substrate to a recording medium when a film is released. SOLUTION: The image printing method of the present invention comprises a re-transferring process wherein while the film F and a card S are forwarded, the film F is stuck on the surface of the card S, and a transparent image receiving layer 42 on which an image is thermally transferred is re-transferred on the surface of the card S, and a releasing process wherein the sheet substrate 40 of the film F stuck by the re-transferring process is pulled intermittently to release the sheet substrate 40 from the card S. In the releasing process, the sheet substrate 40 can be surely released from the recording medium by intermittently pulling the sheet substrate 40. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
