PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a muddy material dehydrating method and its system which can stably and efficiently perform dehydration treatment. SOLUTION: The dehydration method of muddy material containing sand and muddy water comprises a separation step for separating the muddy material into the sand and the muddy water, a concentration adjustment step for adjusting the concentration of the separated muddy water to a predetermined concentration to generate concentration-adjusted muddy water, a mixing step for mixing the separated sand and the separated muddy water to generate a mixed stock solution to be dehydrated, a sand ratio detecting step for detecting a ratio of sand contained in the mixture stock solution to be dehydrated, and a hydration step for dehydrating the mixture stock solution to be dehydrated with a screw press 5 while controlling the rotational speed of the screw press 5 based on the ratio of the contained sand detected in the sand ratio detecting step.
