PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter apparatus having a filter structure section capable of being efficiently melted/burned or volume-reduced, being replaced more efficiently and also effectively preventing secondary pollution from occurring due to a captured radioactive substance, and to provide a filtering method using it. SOLUTION: The filter apparatus comprises a filtering body comprising a filter-material structure having a tubular filter-material for filtering a filtration object liquid containing the radioactive substance, etc. and an outer-shell structure for receiving the filter-material structure with a gap to the outer peripheral face of the tubular filter-material, both installed in a filtering column. For the purpose of enabling separation of the filter-material structure at the time of waste disposal, the outer-shell structure and the filter structure are separably assemble.
