PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating apparatus in which a fixed quantity of a coating material is applied on a relatively narrow area with a high positional precision. SOLUTION: The coating apparatus 30 has a coating head 34 provided with a projecting part 31 to be inserted into a hole 22 of a substrate 4, a circular coating surface 32 opposed to the outside surface 4b of the substrate 4 in a state that the projecting part 31 is inserted into the hole 22 and a heater 33 and an ultrasonic generation part 35 for impressing ultrasonic on the coating surface 32 of the coating head 34. A fixed quantity of the coating material is stuck on the coating surface 32 and the projecting part 31 of the coating head 34 is inserted into the hole 22 of the substrate 4 to position the coating head 34 by centering to the hole 22. The coating material on the coating surface 32 is transferred to the outside surface 4b of the substrate 4 around the hole 22 while impressing the ultrasonic wave to the coating surface 32.
