PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stretch sewing thread which improves high speed sewability, automatic machine correspondency, seam strength, and the like, that have been detects, when a stretchable cloth is sewed with an industrial final sewing machine, and forms seams having excellent stretchability and elastic recovery. SOLUTION: This stretch sewing thread is characterized by comprising polyester filament yarns which have been subjected to the first and second twisting treatments and from whose surfaces loops are projected, having a loop rate of 30 to 200 loops/m, and having a stretch elastic recovery rate of≥80% on 10% stretch.
