PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new herbicide which has a wide range of applications to arable and non-arable lands and the like, and various methods of its application to soil treatment, stem and leaf treatment and the like, and exhibits excellent herbicidal effect. SOLUTION: Benzoylpyrazole compounds represented by formula (I) (wherein R<SP>1</SP>is an alkyl or a cycloakyl; R<SP>2</SP>is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl; R<SP>3</SP>is a hydrogen atom, phenacyl, phenylsulfonyl, benzyl or cyclohexylmethyl; R<SP>4</SP>is an alkyl; R<SP>5</SP>is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl; and R<SP>6</SP>is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl, an alkenyl or the like), a method for manufacturing these compounds and herbicides are provided.
