PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem wherein time and labor for coping with problems of vibration and noise are required in a conventional pulley device for an elevator because machining for coping with the problems of vibration and noise is not performed. SOLUTION: This pulley device 8 for the elevator is provided with a pulley 12 around which a main rope 4 is wound and a pulley supporting member 13 for supporting the pulley rotatably. The pulley supporting member 13 is composed of lateral beams 14, 15 arranged in parallel across an interval in the vertical direction and four plate members 16 arranged to nip both end parts of them in the direction of width and extending vertically.
