A method for producing a worn article of the present invention comprises the steps of successively placing portions of webs W 1 , W 2 on a plurality of pads 3 ; slacking off the webs W 1 , W 2 between the pads 3 <SUB>i </SUB>by shortening an interval between the pads 3 <SUB>i</SUB>; placing an elastic member on the webs W 1 , W 2 placed on the pads 3 <SUB>i </SUB>so that the elastic member extends across a slack portion Wa of each of the webs W 1 , W 2 which is slacked off; placing an absorbent body on a non-slack portion Wp of the webs W 1 , W 2 on the pads 3 <SUB>i </SUB>which is not slacked off; removing the slack of the webs W 1 , W 2 by increasing the interval between the pads; and placing a sheet S 1 , S 2 of a predetermined length on the webs W 1 , W 2 , the slack of which is removed.
