<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which burden of maintenance operation on an operator is reduced by decreasing the frequency of abnormal alarm of document reading position. <P>SOLUTION: When a document is read out normally (NO at S12), the frequency of normal read-out is counted up (S13).
