PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for an internal combustion engine capable of reducing a shift shock at a time of range change over between N range and D range in an automatic transmission. SOLUTION: If signal SW from a neutral switch 44 is changed over from H level to L level at time t1, a turbine rotation speed estimation part 116 estimates behavior of turbine rotation speed based on delay time d until start of change of turbine rotation speed and a quadratic function expressing change of turbine rotation speed after that. Control target torque of an engine 10 is calculated with using target turbine rotation speed NT estimated by the turbine rotation speed estimation part 116, and output torque from the engine 10 is controlled based on the calculated control target torque.
